About Lavrions
Plain-English money, for the long term
Lavrions is an independent publication about personal finance — saving, investing, earning, and the psychology of money. We help everyday people build wealth calmly, without the jargon or the hype.
Why we started Lavrions
Most money advice falls into one of two traps. It is either sold to you — a course, a fund, a "secret" — or it quietly assumes you already have wealth to manage. We wanted a third option: clear, honest writing for people with ordinary incomes, real bills, and a healthy distrust of anyone promising to make them rich overnight.
Lavrions started in 2025 as a set of notes between friends who kept trading the same questions — how much to keep in savings, whether index funds were really enough, how to ask for a raise without flinching. Those notes became articles, and the articles became this. Today we publish practical guides across four areas — saving & budgeting, investing, earning & income, and money & mindset — built on one belief: small, durable decisions beat dramatic gambles every time.
What you can expect
Every article is written or edited by someone who has actually done the thing we describe. We favour depth over volume, we update guides when rules and numbers change, and we are upfront about what we don't know. We explain the trade-offs, link our sources, and never pretend there is one perfect answer for everyone.
A note on scope: Lavrions publishes general financial education, not personalised advice. You can read more about how we work in our editorial policy, and about the limits of our content in our disclaimer.
What we value
The principles behind every article
Independent by design
Our recommendations are never bought. We are not paid to feature a bank, broker, or product, and we keep advertising clearly separate from editorial.
Tested, not theoretical
We write about the accounts, funds, and habits real people actually use — not strategies that only work for someone who is already wealthy.
Long-term over hype
No hot stock tips, no get-rich-quick, no FOMO. We care about decisions that compound quietly over years, not headlines that spike for a week.
Plain and honest
No jargon, no padding, and no pretending the trade-offs don't exist. We explain money the way we'd explain it to a friend.
The team
Who writes Lavrions
Elena spent eight years as a financial planner before realising the best advice rarely fit on a product brochure. She started Lavrions to explain money the way she wished banks would — plainly, with the trade-offs left in. She is allergic to hype, get-rich-quick schemes, and any tip that only works for people who are already rich.
Theo is a former markets analyst who now writes about investing for normal people with normal incomes. He is a patient indexer who believes most of investing is behaviour, not brilliance. He reads the fine print on every fund so you do not have to, and he will always tell you when the boring option is the right one.
Clara has negotiated raises across three industries and coached dozens of friends through the awkward art of asking for more. She covers the earning side of money — salary, skills, and side income — with practical scripts you can actually use. She believes your income is the most powerful wealth-building tool you have.
